Both of these much-awaited films earlier were meant to be released on the same day –January22. Now it seems ‘Rann’ will hit the screens a week after ‘Veer’.

It is reported that Veer’s director Anil Sharma had a discussion with the co-producer of ‘Rann’, Sheetal Talwar to avoid clash between their films.

Few years ago two big-time films, 'Gadar - Ek Prem Katha' and 'Lagaan', were released simultaneously on the same day and both went on to become blockbusters. But the scenario is different now and audience is not keen to watch two big films during the same week. And this is what Sheetal Talwar rightly believes.

‘Rann’ and ‘Veer’ were seen sticking to their decision for a January 22 release and finally Talwar saw to that this tug of war won’t be favourable for both the films. "There's no point in creating an ego issue by insisting we release 'Rann' on the same day as 'Veer'. One or the other film is bound to suffer at the box office. Why not release a week later when we get a relatively free Friday?" stated the producer.

Ram Gopal Varma's ‘Rann’ featuring Amitabh Bachchan is based on media exploitation in contemporary times while Salman Khan starrer ‘Veer’ is a period saga set in the eighteenth century. Both the films carry the same theme of patriotism in different flavours.

Now, let’s wait to see which film succeeds in raising patriotic flame higher.
